Lord,

images prayer
Give our husbands peace and joy so that it permeates their spirits and testifies to the world of You.
May they be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that they
may walk in a manner worthy of You, to please You in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work
and increasing in the knowledge of You; strengthened with all power according to Your glorious
might for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience: joyously giving thanks to You, who have
qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. (Col. 1:9-12)

We thank You and praise You and have confidence that since You have begun a good work in our
husbands, You will complete it. (Phil. 1:6)

Give us the faith to continue to stand on Your Word, trust in Your powerful name and continue in prayer.

We ask these things according to Your will!

Amen

Lord,

We pray for our husbands today. We pray for their vision, their goals, their hopes and their dreams

We pray that they would be known as men who have great hope in a holy God. We pray that they would set their minds on Your word and that they would live according to Your truth.

Give them a vision for what You have created them to accomplish in this life. Thank you, God, that You have a specific purpose for each man in this world. You have created our husbands with unique gifts and talents and You have a plan for their lives. We pray that You would guide them into their specific niche so that they would find great satisfaction in knowing that there is a reason why they were put on this earth.

We pray that they would be men of deep peace and great joy as they live and work in the calling and vocation that You have put them in.

In Your son’s name,

Amen

Lord,
We pray for our husbands. Show us ways that we can deepen our love for our husbands every single day of our lives together.

We pray for our husbands hearts and minds. May they renew their minds in Your word so that the burdens of this world do not overwhelm them. We pray that they would focus their hearts on You so that they would be peaceful men even when life is hard. Give them a deep sense of Your presence all the days of their lives.images beach

Lord, You have given us the covenant of marriage. Enrich our marriages, flood them with Your love and romance! Thank you for the Song of Solomon that teaches us Your view of marriage. Help us to romantically love our husbands all the days of our lives together.

We pray in the name of Your son, Jesus,

Amen

Lord,

We pray for our influence on the lives of our husbands. We want to be Proverbs 31 wives who “do him good and not evil all the days of our lives.”

We pray we would influence our husbands with godly wisdom. Show us when to keep our mouths shut and prompt us to speak up when we need to.

Give us an all-encompassing love and understanding for our men so that we can see beyond their behavior and understand the reason for their decisions.

Give us the strength to unconditionally accept them.

Give us joy and peace as we live with them.

When we need to stand strong on something that You have deeply convicted us about, help us to do that even if our husbands don’t understand.

Help us to develop a strong sense of humor and fun to lighten up the heavy responsibilities of life.

Make us joyful, happy wives who can laugh even when life seems dark.

We want to hew out strong, delightful marriages so that the next generation of children will see the blessing and honor of the institution of marriage because You created it.

We pray all this in Your name,

Amen

Lord,

We pray for our husbands today. We pray for his emotional health. We pray you would protect his heart and his mind as he experiences the sorrows, joys, frustrations and trials of life. Help him to give these things to You so that he can keep a balanced perspective. Give him a steady, persevering way of looking at life and strengthen his mind so that he can tackle hard things.

Thank you that Your word says that the peace of God will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. We pray for that kind of peace for our husbands.

Let them be known in their jobs, families, communities and churches for being strong, wise men with tender hearts. Help them to understand how to express their emotions. Lord, masculinity is under such attack and we pray that they would be masculine men who know who they are and who You created them to be.

Most of all, we pray that You would give them deep, abiding peace and joy every single day of their lives.

You are such a great God and we worship you.

In Christ’s name,

Amen

Marvelous Marriage Monday; Ten Gifts for Your Husband This Christmas

ABC's of Love, blessing your husband, covenant marriage, pleasing your husband

Christmas is a romantic time of year, coming in close to Valentines Day.images.jpg fireplace with couple Romance, however, takes time which can be in short supply this time of year! Getting alone with your spouse can also be a challenge as you find yourself more involved in social events like parties, caroling, hospitality and service projects. Here are a few ideas to keep a little romance in Christmas this year!

1). Hang mistletoe everywhere you possibly can! Get silly about it and hang it in the car, the bathroom and over the kitchen sink. Then, make a big deal out of kissing your husband at every opportunity! Grab those children while you are at it and lay one on them when you can catch them!

2). Take a drive together through neighborhoods to look at the lights and listen to music on the radio. This can be done with small children strapped into their car seats!

3. Hustle the kids into their room a bit early and keep them there with a story CD and then cuddle by the tree with your hubby in the dark. Breathe deep and relax!

4. Write little “anonymous” love notes to your husband with a little candy candy drawn next to them. Write on the mirror in lipstick something like, “This little elf believes that YOU are her very best present this Christmas!” Have fun surprising him throughout the rest of the month.

5. For the remaining days leading up until Christmas day, give your husband his own advent calendar of appreciation. Every morning give him a hand written card telling him specific areas of his life where he has blessed you and your children. This is a wonderful time to remember back over the year and point out what he has done right!

6. Give him a goody-a-day and let the children help you prepare them. They could be small pampering gifts such as a foot massage or they could be his favorite treats such as a can of pistachio nuts or a jar of pickles.

7. Tell him that his elves want to “lighten Santa’s pack” and ask him what three tasks he would like done around the house. You might take something off his “honey do” list and do it for him; vacuum his car, straighten his tools, fix his favorite dinner, call the plumber for the job he hasn’t been able to get done.

8. Rent his favorite movie, prepare his favorite treat and watch it with him (even if it’s not your kind of movie). Yes, a lot of things need to be done but just sit there and enjoy your husband!

9. Depending on whether your husband is an extrovert or introvert, choose a social activity that is geared toward his bent. If you are married to a man who gets rejuvenated with quiet, alone time, say “no” to too many parties and get-togethers in December and stay home with a smile.

If your husband thrives on noise, conversation and people, forgo your precious quiet evening at home and join him willingly. images gingerbread

10. Teach your children of all ages to be grateful for what they have and to remember those who have so much less. A grateful attitude in his family will be a huge encouragement to any man as they strive to provide for their family at Christmas.

Remember, it’s good for children to see Mommy kissing Santa underneath the Christmas tree!

ABC's of Love, blessed communication, blessing your husband, growing in understanding, trusting God

Lord,

We pray for our communication with our husbands.  Help us to understand what they are really trying to tell us even when they aren’t saying the words. Give us discernment and wisdom to really hear what they are saying.images holding hands

Make us wise women who have understanding and insight into our husbands! When we don’t understand why he is doing what he is doing, prompt us to bring our confusion to you. Thank you that Your Holy Spirit knows that we do not even know how to pray as we ought but He intercedes for us with groaning to deep for words! It is such a blessing to know that the Holy Spirit works on our behalf, Lord!

Give us marriages where we can intimately know each other. Give us marriages where we are able to understand and enjoy each other even when we are very different.justtwoofus

Thank You that marriage is Your idea!

In Christ’s name we pray,

Amen

ABC's of Love, blessing your husband, cooking, God keeps His promises, godly wisdom, trusting God

Lord,

We pray for the physical health of our husbands. Help us to encourage them to keep active, eat well and sleep deeply without being a nag. Give us insight and wisdom into what they need to feel better and think more clearly.

Lord, thank You for helping us discern what is truly a spiritual or emotional struggle and what problem has its roots in their physical body. Give us understanding into what unique needs our own husbands have and to creatively bless him by meeting those needs.

We want our husbands to be joyful, energetic, clear thinking men. We don’t want to mother them, instead, we want to be godly wives who “do them good and not evil” all the days of their lives.

Lord, we ask that you give us the strength and willingness to do the hard work of learning how to make tasty, nutritious meals day after day so that we can guard the health of husbands.

Help us to take the time to walk in the fresh air and enjoy the sunshine and rain with our husbands.

Give us the strength of will to say “No” to the urgent and “Yes” to the essential tasks of life. We want to bless the men whom you have given to us and we ask for Your help to do that, Lord.

In Jesus name we pray,

Amen

God keeps His promises, raising children, trusting God

Lord,

We pray today for the marriages of our children, our friends and their children. We pray that you would bring godly spouses to our unmarried children. We pray that you would bless the next generation with wisdom and discernment as they make that crucial choice about who they should marry. Lord, give them the moral strength of character to pick well! Once they are married, give them joy in their choice as they mature into the perfect spouse for their wife or husband. Make them a united unit as they seek You in all things.

Lord, we pray for our friends, relatives and neighbors and their marriages. May we be strong encouragers, speaking wisdom and truth to them as they go through those inevitable hard times. Give us the strength to obey You when you prompt us to pray for others. Save us from the heartache of watching our loved ones go through a divorce. Give our children and grandchildren the stability and blessing of growing up in homes where the word divorce is not even mentioned.

Thank You for Your strength, Your joy and Your hope as You walk with us through all the days of our lives.

In Jesus name,

Amen
